Barbara Ann Odenkirk Wadley, born March 30, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio to parents Russell and Elizabeth Kaler Odenkirk. The family moved to Lexington Springmill Road in 1934 where Barbara grew up and graduated from Springfeld Township High School in 1949. She attended Mansfield General Nursing School and graduated in 1953 and was a licensed RN. Barbara married Albert Dean Wadley on January 30, 1954. The couple have three children. Barbara was a talented cook and was known for her pies, especially pecan pie and her famous pecan crackers. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, outdoors, camping, and campfires with family and friends. Barbara was very active volunteering with her church family and helped organize rummage and bake sales to fund mission trips. She had numerous hobbies including sewing, baking, and pinochle. Barb enjoyed memberships in various organizations including: Eastview School Mothers Club; Clay Memorial, past president; Mansfield Church of God Missionary Society; 4-H Club Sewing Advisor; International Flying Farmers; Mansfield Sports Car Club; Mansfield Aviation Club and a Supervisor at the Voting Polls. Barb stayed in constant communication with her nursing alumni and life-long friends. To her credit, she never met a person she didn't like. She worked as a school nurse, for a Doctor's office and eventually helped her husband with the family business as a book keeper. Barb had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing at church. She was an avid sports fan and enthusiastically supported the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. As a member of the Mansfield Sports Car Club, she raced her Volkswagen Bug. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Glenn Taylor, as well as two uncles, Fred and Arthur Kaler. She is survived by brother Dr. James E. Odenkirk (Benita), beloved husband Albert of 63 years and her three children, Stephen Ellis Wadley (Diana) David Henry Wadley (Amy), and Mary Beth Cattaneo (Gerry), five grandchildren, Dr. Alicia Griffin (Dan), Andrea Cattaneo, Benjamin Wadley, Noah Wadley, Grace Wadley and one great grandchild, Cooper Griffin. Barbara passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
