Betty E Shade

Betty E. Shade, 80, of Mansfield, passed away on March 24, 2015 where she was a resident of Mifflin Care Center. Betty was born June 7, 1934 in Galion and was the daughter of the late Arthur Roy and Hazel Dell (Swank) Myers. She had retired from Mansfield General Hospital. An empathetic, generous woman, Betty was dearly loved by her family. She loved animals and was always taking in strays. Betty enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing bingo, and reading, especially from her Bible. Betty is survived by two daughters, Theresa Cains and Ruth Shade both of Mansfield; three sons, David Shade of Mansfield, Chris Shade and Roy (Debra) Shade all of Georgia; four grandchildren, Crystal (Paul) Fikentscher, Paul Cains, III, Shaun (Brandy) Cains, and Jessica (Jake) Dingus; four great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Alexis, and Sophia Fikentscher, and Shaun Cains, Jr.; one sister, Gladys Oyster of Columbus. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Robert, and Charles Myers; and her son-in-law, Paul Cains, Jr. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield.
