Bruce L Orren

Bruce L. Orren, 81, born August 30th, 1935 in Red Jacket, West Virginia, left this earth Wednesday, January 11, 2017 after a long battle with heart disease. He married Louise Smith who he celebrated 61 years with this last December. He serviced in the United States Navy and was commissioned upon the U.S.S. Rushmore and was stationed at Norfolk, Virginia. He served 18 years and retired from the Mansfield Police Department in 1978. After retirement, he was a Security Guard at various locations. All who came in contact with Bruce instantly fell in love with his humor, charm, and baby blue eyes. He never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by all, especially his special friend Dairl Smith, who was actually his brother-in-law, but was like a brother he never had. Besides his wife Louise, he is survived by his two sons: Bruce Orren Sr. (Shelly), and Gary Orren, Seven grandchildren: Tony Orren, Brandon Orren, Nicole Frazier, Brittaney Gurgacz, JR Meyer, Nathan Meyer, and Jared Meyer; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ted and Virginia Orren and his in-laws: George and Bessie Smith. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
