Derrick A. Gerhart

Derrick A. Gerhart, 32 of Sharonville, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Mansfield. Derrick was born on April 1, 1982 in Mansfield to Darrell Smith and Suzette Gerhart Miller. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and watching the NFL, especially the Browns and the Bengals. He is survived by his mother, Suzette Miller; his father, Darrell Smith; fiancé, Leigh Almaraz Washnock; seven children, Ethan, Dominick, Harmony, Derrick, Jr., Julie, Jasmine, and Jordan; three siblings, Matthew, Rachel, and George; maternal grandparents, Robert and Connie Mortimer and Christine Thompson; and paternal grandmother, Linda Wallace. Derrick was preceded in death by his brother, Michael; maternal grandfather, Clyde Junior Thompson; maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Ann Hoff; paternal grandfather, Bosey Smith; and paternal step-grandmother, Donna Thompson. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at New Community Temple, 338 Harker Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Henry Bradley, III officiating. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., is handling the arrangements.
