Gary Lynn Simon

Gary L. Simon, 70, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017.Gary was born November 26, 1946 in Mansfield to Joseph and Elsie (Moore) Simon. Gary was an avid sports fan and rarely missed watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading about the Civil War. He was a former member of the Bellville Lions Club. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Simon; mother, Elsie Simon; two children, Trisha (Robert) Tschantz and Bob Simon; one brother, Ronald (Wanda) Simon; grandchildren, Josh (Jamie) Tschantz, Amber (Archie) Tucker, Jessica (Aaron) Kegley, Ashley (Tim) Scott, Danialle (David) Tackett, Brandon Simon, and Breanna Simon; and 13 great-grandchildren.Gary was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Simon.Calling hours will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lantz Cemetery.
