Harold Stamper Obituary

Harold Stamper, 76, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on November 25, 2017.Harold was born on March 28, 1941, in White Lake, WI, to Ansel and Nancy E. (Mabry) Stamper. On September 18, 1960, he married his childhood sweetheart, Carolyn Stephens Stamper, and she survives. He retired from Ideal Electric after 44 years of employment. He played guitars that he collected for several years, and played in a band with his brother Ron. Harold's hobbies included restoring and collecting old cars, riding his motorcycle with Carolyn on many trips, collecting guns, and target shooting with his brother-in-law, Al. Harold leaves a good legacy to his family as a man of integrity, being kind and fair to all. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, sharing his knowledge with them. Harold loved sharing his hobbies with his son, Kevin, who will continue to carry on. Along with his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by his son, Kevin Stamper of Galion; two siblings, Ron (Jane) Stamper and Drema (Al) Santamont, both of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Connie (Joe) Duncan of Cynthiana, KY; two brothers-in-law, Denver Wagner of Olive Hill, KY, and Wayne C. Stephens of Wooster; one granddaughter, Amanda (Corey) McFarland; and four great-grandchildren, Mason McFarland, Lauren McFarland, Lillian McFarland, and Allison Stamper.Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Yvonne Wagner; one brother, Ray C. Rice; and one grandson, Brandon C. Stamper.Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Larry McCabe officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park.
