Irva V. (Burgett) Gard, 81, of Wooster, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Monday, August 15, 2016.Irva was born on July 17, 1935, in Clinton Township, OH, to Alva H. and Clarabelle V. (Smetzer) Burgett.She was a member of Wooster Bible Church. Irva was a wonderful wife and mother, and enjoyed quilting, especially in her younger years with her grandmother.She is survived by four sons, Kermit Gard of Akron, Cadillac "Cad" (Pam) Gard and Randy (Pixie) Gard, both of Wooster, and Winston (Lois) Gard of Shreve; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Alva (Sandy) Burgett of Hayesville, Glenn (Georgie) Burgett of Wyoming, and Harold (Flossie) Burgett of Shreve.Along with her parents, Irva was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gard; and three siblings, Howard Burgett, Paul Burgett, and Emma Rice.Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Wooster Bible Church, 344 N. Columbus Ave, Wooster, OH 44691. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Joe Silvestri officiating.
