Jason A. Swartz

Jason A. Swartz, 42, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, April 2, 2017, following a brief illness.Jason was born on May 2, 1974, in Mansfield to Jack H. Jr and Cathy L. (Cross) Swartz. Jason was a member of Ontario Free Methodist Church, and was deeply involved with the Operation Christmas Child program. He loved race cars, and use to drive stock cars, along with being part of the pit crew of several crews. Jason was always helping others, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. His nieces, nephew, and great-niece were very important to him, and he loved to visit his uncle in Colorado, and cut wood at his other uncle's house. He also loved to hunt deer, roller skate, and build bon fires. He was so loving towards his wife, and was so helpful around their home, that she felt that he "conquered being a domestic god", because of his unending devotion to her.He is survived by his wife, Misty (Goodwin) Swartz; his parents, Jack Jr and Cathy Swartz; his siblings, Carrie (Jeff) Chio and Jack A. (Angie) Swartz, all of Mansfield; nieces, Morgan (Derrick) Slone, Taylor Swartz, Paige Swartz all of Mansfield; nephew, Wesley Swartz of Mansfield; great-niece Rilynn Slone; uncles Rick (Jan) Cross of CO, and Frank (Rebecca) Swartz of Ashland; and many, many friends and best friends, too many to count.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack H Sr and Lois Swartz, and Frank and Essie Cross. Calling hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Ontario Free Methodist Church, 2200 Bedford Blvd, Ontario, OH. Memorial services will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Tony Visconi officiating.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
