Lee Neumann Obituary

Lee G. Neumann, 91, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2014 at Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Lee was born on October 4, 1922 in Galion to Grover S. and Ella (Lee) Neumann. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, as a T5 in Company B, 851st Engineer Aviation Battalion. Lee received many medals including the European Theatre Service Metal, two Bronze Stars, and the Victory Metal. He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad and was a salesman for Golden United. He also was an insurance agent for many years with National Life Insurance Company and was known as a hard worker. Lee received a Merit in Service Certificate from and was a member of the Richland Co. Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary. Lee was a member of Victory Baptist Church, where he served faithfully in many different capacities. Lee enjoyed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and greatly enjoyed leading others to Him. One of his favorite verses was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Lee lived his faith and shared it with all who knew him. He was a blessing to his family and friends. He is survived by three children, Karl L. Neumann, Sr. of Bucyrus, Nancy C. (Darrell) Raymond of Hopewell, VA, and Beverly K. Barnes of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Vicky Tichner, Heather Yarmesch, Wes Neumann, Charles Neumann, Josh Neumann, Jenny Swan, Christopher Landis, and Michael A. Barnes; many great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Christina M. Mackey, Rosella V. Wood, Evelyn E. Langhoer, Jill Stahl, and John H. Neumann. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, H. Louise Neumann in 2004; one grandson, Karl Neumann, Jr.; and eight siblings, William H. Neumann, Ruth E. Gwirtz, Albert M. Neumann, Naomi E. Pierce, Grace V. Ball, Merylin J. Brown, infant sister, Dorothy S. Neumann, and infant brother, Franklin Neumann. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 at Victory Baptist Church, 939 W. Cook Road, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the church with Pastor John Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park, with military honors performed by the Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail. To send a memorial gift to the family of Lee G.
