Lyle Hillman Berry

Lyle Hilman Berry, 90, of Lucas, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at his residence.Lyle was born on November 8, 1927, in Lucas, to Wilson S. and Mary (Dixon) Berry. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War, and spent four years on the USS Zellars. He was employed at GM for over 30 years. He married his sweetheart, Ruth (Davis) Berry, on June 26, 1955, and she survives. Lyle was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and attended St. Paul's and Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church. He loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He belonged to Appleseed Square Dance Club for many years and enjoyed participating in various sports activities. Along with his with his wife, Ruth, he is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Randy) Endsley of Lucas; six grandchildren, Randy (Jessica) Patton, Ryan (Nicole) Patton, Malorie (Cory) Wenzel, Lyle Berry Endsley, Randy (Katy) Endsley, and Tim (Kristen) Endsley; seven great-grandchildren, Grady, Alexander, Emma, Sydney, Andrew, Connor, and Kyle; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Berry and Mable Berry, both of Lucas.Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Lyle Berry; and siblings, Wilma Maglott, Duane Berry, Leo Berry, Walter Berry, Rosella Hollinger, and Duane's twin, infant Donovan Berry. Calling hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Lyle's nephews, Pastor Michael Hollinger and Pastor Jim Berry, officiating.
