Mildred Kathleen Ison

Mildred Kathleen (Holbrook) Ison, 74, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Thursday, November 5, 2015. Mildred was born on July 1, 1941, in Olive Hill, KY, to Troy and Marie (Stacey) Holbrook. She was married for 57 years to the love of her life, James Ison. She loved cooking, gardening, and shopping. She loved to go to church and was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by three daughters; Debra Sparks, Rose (John) Oakley, Lisa (Albert "Sonny", Jr.) Carter all of Mansfield; seven siblings, Richard (Sue) Ison, Linda (Philip) Ison both of Ky., Corrine Bivens, Alma (Emery) Conn, Diane (Jim) Gregg, Donny (Pat) Holbrook, Marvin (Mary) Holbrook; a special granddaughter, Mya Carter; a special great-granddaughter, Jamie Maree Sparks, a special nurse aide, Kelly, a special friend, Grace Pelfrey, nine grandchildren; Jamie Sparks, William Sparks, Joshua (Teresa) Oakley, Johnny Oakley, Jessie (Shea) Oakley, Matt (Dramelia) Ison, Cody (Lori) Ison, Chandra Ison, and Brandon Ison, seven great-grandchildren; Cameron Ison, Scarlet Ison, Lilyanna Ison, Ethan Oakley, Dominick Sparks, Felicia Page, and Robin Page, and numerous nieces and nephews all from Mansfield and Kentucky. The family would like to thank OhioHealth Hospice for their care. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, James William Ison; son, David Ison; daughter-in-law, Tenna Ison; son-in-law, Dean Sparks; brother-in-law, Raymond Bivens; and one brother, Paul Matthew Holbrook.Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9 , 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Home, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH and Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church.
