Richard Flenner Obituary

Richard A. Flenner, 87, of Lucas, passed away December 25, 2016 at Arbors of Mifflin. Richard was born March 10, 1929 in Lucas, Ohio to Lawrence Flenner and Valoris (Arehart) Flenner. Richard enjoyed farming and hunting. He enjoyed his dogs and was a co-founder and member of the Beagle Olentangy Club. He is an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of the VFW. He graduated from Ashland College with a B.A. Degree. He played baseball at Ashland College, owned The Way Side, and managed the Ballfields for many years. He worked at Westinghouse for 24 years and Tappan Co. for 23 years. On March of 1954, Richard married Patricia (O'Connell) Flenner. Together they had six children: Steven Flenner, Dennis (Ina) Flenner, Keven Flenner, Julie Serraglio, Cathy Flenner, & Mary Eilenfeld. Richard also has nine grandchildren: John Flenner, Robert Flenner, Patty Kingery, Sam Eilenfeld, Tiffany Au, Luke Serraglio, Luciano Serraglio, Michael Flenner, Kenny Flenner. Richard also has three great grandchildren; Grayson Flenner, Aubree Flenner, and Henry Allan Kingery. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services,ltd., 1106 Park Ave East, Mansfield, Ohio 44906. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Union Cemetery.
