Ruth A. (Whitley) Gasparac, 84, of Shiloh, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 18, 2017.Ruth was born on March 1, 1933, in Salyersville, KY, to Will T. and Mary (Risner) Whitley. She loved the Lord and sharing the gospel with others whenever she had the opportunity. She loved her family and especially loved spending time with them and her grandchildren. Ruth was known for her exceptional gardening skills, and enjoyed landscaping her yard with beautiful flowers. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from her large garden, and loved making homecooked meals for her family. She also enjoyed telling stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by six children, Jewel Gasparac, Rose "Odgie" Kilgore, and Randy (Sandy King) Gasparac all of Shiloh, Jack (Charlene) Gasparac of Plymouth, and David (Cathy) Gasparac and Susan Ohl of Shelby; thirteen grandchildren, Kiesha (Dave) Podesta of Chandler, AZ, Michelle Cunningham of Plymouth, Briana (Gregg) Davis of Willard, Ericka Carroll of Shelby, Crystal (Mike) Handshoe of Dayton, Ashley Ohl of Shiloh, Sean Sled of NC, Lucas Gasparac of Dayton, Dustin Erwin of Shelby, Sarah Bailey of Columbus, Jessica Church of NC, and special grandsons, Aaron Gasparac and Jeremy Gasparac of Shiloh; numerous great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Pauline Gasparac of Shelby, Marcella Leatherman of Harding, VA, and Mary Ann Jennings of Shiloh.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Gasparac Sr; her son, Carl Gasparac Jr; two grandchildren, Kristin Gasparac and Brian Handshoe; and several brothers and sisters.Calling hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Highest Praise Church, 42 West Jefferson Ave, Shelby. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the church, with Pastor Sharon Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.
