Terry E Burchfield

Terry E. Burchfield, 60, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, following a brief illness. Terry was born on March 13, 1954, in Mansfield, to Kenneth E. and Ruth M. (Beeler) Burchfield. He was a member of Mayflower Congregation. He married Rilda (Watts) Burchfield on April 6, 1990.Terry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid motorcycle rider, and had a gift for being able to fix any motorcycle. He was known for being a handyman around the house as well, and loved to work on Cuckoo Clocks. He is survived by his wife, Rilda; four children, David Kenneth Burchfield, Jimi Allan (Suzanne) Shores, Madeline Marie Rome, and Terri Ashley (Thomas) Thornton, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Bradley Burchfield, Zachary Rayos, Zackery Evan Rome, Ryelee Quinton Rome, Angelina Sky Blankenship, Paxon Michael Thornton, Jagger Thomas Thornton, and Charlotte Isabella Thornton; two great-grandchildren; two siblings, Thomas (Tammy) Burchfield of Bellvue and Beth (Joe) Marietta of Mansfield; special cousin, Marvin Shores; special friend, Burt Myers; and special canine buddy, Butter. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Edward Leroy Rome Jr; and brother, Roger Burchfield. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery, with full Military Honors being performed by the R.C. Joint Veterans Burial Detail. In memory of Terry, and in honor of his service to our country, all motorcycle riders are asked to participate in the funeral procession to the cemetery, to give Terry a sendoff.
