Barbara Ann Mullins, 86, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
She was born on October 12, 1937, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Barb was the daughter of Harold A. Payton and Helen Payton. She grew up with a big family and married the love of her life, Apostel Paul Mullins in 1958, celebrating 62 years of marriage, before his passing in 2020. Barb and Paul moved to Mansfield, seeking a better future for their growing family. They had four children, who went on and had many children of their own, growing Barb’s family even more. Barb’s dedication to her family, friends, and work was something to be admired. Barb was a hard worker and spent the majority of her career at Hartmann Electric in Mansfield. Outside of work, Barb enjoyed staying busy and had many hobbies. Throughout her life she was an avid camper, never missing the opportunity to be outside. She enjoyed bowling on many leagues with her husband and family. Later in life, she took her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the same bowling alleys where she had made so many great memories.
She is survived by her children, Apostel “Paul” (Angie) Mullins Jr, Roger (Wendy) Mullins, and Kevin (Autumn) Mullins; son-in-law, Gary Bennett; grandchildren, Cody (Anastacia) Mullins, Crystal (James) Szymczak, Erica Nigh, Kathryn Mullins, Mackenzie Mullins, Dylan (Tory) Mullins, Brandyn (Megan) Mullins, Kaden Mullins, Ian Mullins, Gary Bennett Jr, Joey Bennett, and Rebecca Bennett; great-grandchildren, Courtney Brafford, Avery and Alivia Szymczak, Jaxson Bennett, Aliana Mullins, and Joshua Mullins; siblings, Bill (Connie) Payton, Linda (Dale) Clifford, Sandy (Roger) Carmichael, and Russell (Leann) Payton; along with many nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Apostel Paul Mullins; daughter, Ellen Bennett; daughter-in-law, Dora Mullins; sisters, Dorothy Williams and Sue Utt; and brother-in-law, Charles Utt.
All who had the pleasure of knowing Barb, knew her to be hardworking, loving, and strong. She held many titles, including daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. However, Barb was also known as a matriarch, caretaker, confidant, teacher, protector, and fierce supporter. Barb and Paul created a legacy that will continue to be passed down through the generations. Barb will be missed greatly, but she will live on in the memories and love of her family and those she touched throughout her life.
