Gary E Thompson

Gary E. Thompson, 55, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019, following a lengthy illness.

Gary was born on April 13, 1964, in Mansfield, to Rev. Clyde Jr. and Christine (Knipp) Thompson.  He loved to play golf and enjoyed bowling and was known as one of the top bowlers in Mansfield in the 1990’s.  He also loved to watch sports and loved his dog, Cricket.

He is survived by his son, Rev. Gary (Hannah) Thompson of Mansfield; step-daughter, Kari Hansen of Columbus; mother, Christine Thompson of Mansfield; brother, Larry (Sharon) Thompson of Marion; and best friend, Jeff Dillon of Mansfield.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Clyde Thompson, Jr.; and his wife, P. Diane (Crabtree) Thompson.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1169 Mill Street, Mansfield.  Memorial services will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
