Gene Autry New, Sr., 78, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at his home.

Gene was born October 25, 1941 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of Hence and Ella M. (Fields) New.

Gene is survived by four sons, Gene (Joan) New, Jr. and Wesley V. New both of Mansfield, Larry (Brenda) Turner and David Turner both of WV; two daughters, Tracey (Mickey) Hamilton of Mansfield and Patty (Greg) Laughlin of WV; grandchildren, Tiffany France, Melissa Hamilton, Bobby Hamilton, Cathy Turner, Rebecca Mullins, Lucas Turner, and Makenzie Laughlin; great-grandchildren, Breyden Hamilton, Jameson France, Holten France, Abigail France, Brayden Barker, Hayley-Ana Barker, Kaleb Mullins, Kaylee Mullins, Macie Mullens; two brothers, Joe (Darlene) New of NC and Bruce New; and one sister, Emma Jean New.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise Carpenter and Betty Hopson.
