Robert D. Matz

Robert D. Matz, 31, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, following a brief battle with cancer. Robert was born on November 7, 1987 in Mansfield to Ray W. Matz and Lynn M. (Gibson) Jacobs. He loved to spend time with his family, and enjoyed fishing, hunting especially deer, riding motorcycles, and camping. Along with his mother and step-father, Lynn and Mike Jacobs, he is survived by three children, Dalton Matz, Gracie Matz, and Leigha Matz, all at home; and one brother, Cody (Shannon) Matz of Mansfield, and two half siblings, Jeremy Matz of Loudonville and Stephanie Matz. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Ray Matz; maternal grandmother, Eva Wheatcraft; and paternal grandparents, Clyde and JoAnn Matz. Calling hours will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Stewart Road Church of God, 1425 N. Stewart Rd, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Duncan officiating. Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
