Robert Edward Slaton

Robert E. Slaton, 73, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019.

Robert was born on September 29, 1946, in Mansfield, to Frank and Nettie (Radabaugh) Slaton.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.  He retired from Brinks as a route supervisor. Robert loved being with his grandchildren and enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching sports, and vacationing.  He received an award for bowling in the nationals for 25 consecutive years.  He married his sweetheart, Patricia (Backensto) Slaton on July 23, 1983 and she survives.

Along with his wife, Patricia; he is survived by three children, Angela (Steve) Reusch of Cincinnati, Kristen Slaton (Michael Pekarek) and Daniel Slaton, both of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Dalton, Reilly, Gavin, Gabriele, Daniel, and Haleigh; and four great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield.  A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Trammel officiating.
