Donald L. Jorden

Donald L. Jorden, 74, walked into Heaven on December 30, 2017.Don was born on May 17, 1943, in Bellevue, PA to Charles and Jean Jorden. He graduated from Lakeview High School, Mercer Co, PA in June, 1962. He graduated from Zion Bible Institute, East Providence, RI in May, 1965. He was ordained into the ministry on July, 1978.He married his wife, Dolly, of 50 years on July 15, 1967 in Truxall, PA. He enjoyed being a dad and taking good care of his two girls. He was a part of every moment in the lives of his four grandchildren. His most recent love was his great-granddaughter, his little "peanut." He lived many places throughout his life, but spent the last 33 years in Mansfield. He ministered at many different churches over the years. He served in various capacities at First Church of the Open Bible for 29 years. He also enjoyed the years he spent driving school bus.He enjoyed spending time on the porch with all his family and friends who came to visit. He was always fixing something or telling someone how to. His favorite place was the ocean. He was rarely without his coffee cup. He truly loved God, his family, his friends and his church.Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dolly; two daughters and their spouses, Denise and Randy Ruckel and Delaina and Dink Porter; four grandchildren, Bethany, Drew, Jocelyn and Jessica; one great-grandchild, Amelia; brothers and sisters, Ken Jorden, Ruth Mazurek, Dale Jorden, Sheryl Mayhue and their families; his wife's family, his church family, and many close friends.Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at First Church of the Open Bible, 1150 Rayfield Dr, Mansfield, and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the church. Funeral services will start at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at the church, with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park. Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, is handling the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Open Bible Gymnasium/Outreach Center Fund in Don's memory.
