Evert Cook

Evert Cook, 75, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017.Evert was born on September 14, 1942 in Ft. Gay, WV, to Earl and Emmie (Rowe) Cook. He retired from Bunting and Berring. Evert was a family man and deeply loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He loved his wife, Connie (Elkins) Cook, who preceded him in death on November 28, 2016. Evert also enjoyed fishing.He is survived by three children, Tammy Cook Gantz, Steven Cook, and Chad (Lisa) Cook, all of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Cody (Brittany) Cook, Krista Cook, Charles Ray Gantz, II, and Jade Gantz; one great-grandchild, Steven Kash Cook; and four siblings, Homer Cook of Piketon, Gladys (Harold) Endicott of Ashland, KY, Lorine (Phillip) Bowen of Ft. Gay, WV, and Stella Cook of IN.Along with his parents and his wife, Connie, Evert was preceded in death by six siblings, Don Cook, Ruby Marcum, Roger Cook, Barbara Ann Cook, William Cook, and Esaw Cook.Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Hank Webb officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
