Ivan R. Ulmer

Ivan R. Ulmer, 89, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018.Ivan was born on December 31, 1928, in Crawford County, Ohio, to Walter C. and Pearl H. (Shaffer) Ulmer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline. On February 27, 1954, He married his sweetheart, Louise I. (Speece) Ulmer, and she survives. Ivan enjoyed farming and his family.Along with his wife, Louise, he is survived by three children, Gary L. (Stasia) Ulmer of Galion, Susan R. Steinbrunner of Loveland, OH, and Ret. Lt. Col. Tom (Nikki) Ulmer of Monument, CO; six grandchildren, Ryan Ulmer, Laura Ulmer, Danielle (Kris) Stamper, Drew Steinbrunner, Elly Steinbrunner, and Kate Ulmer; and one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Stamper.Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Thelma Durigg and Marvin Ulmer.Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 N. Thoman St, Crestline, Ohio 44827. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
