Jeremy Curtis Adkins, 40, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.Jeremy was born December 9, 1977 in Shelby, the son of John and Karen (Hoover) Adkins. He was a graduate of Shelby Senior High and Pioneer Career and Technology Center. Jeremy was a gifted artist with a love to serve others through maintenance work. He attended Son of God Fellowship and was a big sports fan, who loved the Chicago Cubs. Jeremy had a huge, giving heart and would give someone the shirt off of his own back. He enjoyed spending time with children, but especially loved being with his nephews.He is survived by his parents; one brother, Christopher (Marlene) Adkins of Shelby; two sisters, Kelly (David) Lee of Bloomington, IN and Shari Adkins Weaver of Scottsdale, AZ; four nephews, Tyson Adkins, Nolan Lee, Griffin Lee, and Jayden Lee; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Mansfield First Assembly Church of God, 1000 McPherson Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Adario Cemetery in Shiloh. A dinner will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd. is assisting the family with the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of the funeral.
