John W. "Bill" Bellomy

John W. "Bill" Bellomy, 81, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 21, 2017.Bill was born on March 22, 1936 in Scioto County, Ohio, to Bennie and Louise (Estep) Bellomy. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married his sweetheart, Doris (Parsons) Bellomy, on December 28, 1957, and she survives. Bill retired from GM after 33 ½ years of employment. He was a member of Faith Chapel and served as first elder at the church for over 50 years. He loved to spend time with his family and also enjoyed tinkering with cars, camping, and fishing. Along with his wife, Doris, he is survived by three sons, Jamie (Beth) Bellomy of Columbus, Darrin Bellomy (Heather Gruber) of Shiloh, and Mark (Linda) Bellomy of Rome, OH; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Lanis Restelli of Mansfield, Betty Fields of Ashland, KY, Kay (Delbert) Vance of Wheelersburg, OH, Roberta (Kenny) Musser of Ashland, KY, Richard Bellomy of Fayetteville, NC, Jim (Belvia) Bellomy of Windsboro, SC, Darrell (Lois) Bellomy of Sparta, TN, and Ray (Sharon) Bellomy of Barbona, IL; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Bellomy and Betty Bellomy, both of Ashland, KY.Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy Bellomy; three brothers, Paul Bellomy, Russell Bellomy, and Tom Bellomy; two brothers-in-law, Herman Restelli and Charlie Fields; and one sister-in-law, Phillis Bellomy.Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Faith Chapel, 674 Hannah Road, Mansfield, with Pastor Bruce Copley officiating.
