Kilby Rose

Kilby Rose, 83, of Mansfield, Ohio went home to the Lord July 16th, 2019. He passed at home with his wife of 60 years, Anna Lois (Phipps) Rose, by his side. Kilby was born October 6th, 1935 to Clement and Nerva Caroline Rose in Clintwood, VA. Kilby worked in the coal mines in Virginia as a young man. He and his family then moved to Ohio to work at The Ohio Brass in 1963. Kilby also work for Superior Cleaning Services before he retired. He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed calling to check in on his family nightly. "Old Man" loved spending time with the grand and great-grandkids and sharing his stories of fishing and hunting in his younger days. He is survived by his wife, Anna Lois (Phipps) Rose of Mansfield, OH; his son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Kim Rose of Mansfield, OH; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mark Whited of Butler, OH; his brother, Clement Rose Jr. and wife, Shary of Bellville, OH; his sister, Lucille Phipps and husband, Ken of Port Orchard, WA; his sister, Connie Rose of Clintwood, VA; his sister, Thelma Poland Hill of Mansfield, OH; and his sister, Pearl Keith of Cleveland, OH. "Old Man" is also survived by his four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: granddaughter- Tabytha, Adam, Wyatt, and Connor Sidders; granddaughter- Whitney, James, Corbin, and Addisyn Shopbell; granddaughter- Sarah, Steven, Kayden, Brantley, and Peyton Kochert; and grandson- Ryan Rose and Shelby Elgart. Also surviving is numerous nieces and nephews along with their families. Kilby was preceded in death by his brother, Kelsey Rose and his wife, Jean; his sister, Carolyn Rose; his brother-in-law, Robert Hill; his mother, Nerva C. Rose; and his father, Clement Rose. Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington.
