Lucille Maglott Obituary

Lucille Mowers Maglott, 100, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019, while in the care of Winchester Terrace.Lucille was born September 14, 1918 in Monroe Twp., Richland Co., Ohio, on the farm where her son lives. She was the daughter of Gaylord "Gay" Mowers and Florence Beasore Mowers.She graduated from Lucas High School in the class of 1936, as valedictorian of her class, and later attended the Mansfield Business College and Ashland College. She married Burlyn Maglott on November 12, 1938 and they enjoyed 70 years together. They traveled through 48 states, the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver Island, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and other Canadian Provinces together. She retired as Lucas branch manager of Bank One after 32 years of banking. She was also the first woman branch manager of Farmers Bank. Lucille was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, where she formerly served as organist for over 30 years, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was director of the Children of the Church, and directed the youth choir. She was former president of the District of Evangelical Lutheran Church Women.Formerly a member of the Ohio Genealogical Society, Ashland County Genealogical Chapter, and Richland County Genealogical Chapter, where she served as treasurer, the Lucas Mothers Club, and Lucas Community Garden Club. She served as a precinct worker for the Board of Elections for over 30 years. Lucille is survived by one son, Roger (Janet) Maglott; four grandsons, Craig (Heide), Bryan (Kari), Aaron (Kim), and Heath (Julie); and six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua, Brandon, Jillian, Graham, and Griffon Maglott.Those who preceded her in death are her parents; her husband in 2008; a son, Larry in 1967; and two brothers, Dr. Glenn E. Mowers and Emery O. Mowers.Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Service, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Mt.
