Margaret L. (Castelda) Harner

Margaret L. (Castelda) Harner, 94, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.Margaret was born on June 24, 1923 in Uttica, NY to Anthony and Elizabeth M. (Barton) Castelda. During WWII, she worked at Mansfield Tire and Tappen, and retired from Mansfield Plating after 22 years of employment. She married Melvin E. Harner and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2009. Margaret loved her family. She also loved her animals and was always feeding the neighborhood cats. She enjoyed cooking, baking, walking around the neighborhood, and raising beautiful roses. She was a fan of Frank Sinatra and often times enjoyed playing his music. She was also a volunteer at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hamler of Mansfield; a grandson, Andy Hamler; two great-grandchildren, Mazie Hamler and Kyler Evans; and special cousin, Jim Stinehour, who always took time to call or go see his cousin, Margaret.Along with her husband, Melvin, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Melvin D. Harner; and her granddaughter, Kelly Evans.Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at the funeral home.
