Roger Lee Durfee

Roger Lee Durfee, 73, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017.Roger was born on August 31, 1944, in Union Furnace, OH, to Robert Mead Duffee and Doris (Adkins) Duffee Durfee. Roger was later adopted by Robert Eugene Durfee. He enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, yard sales, traveling prior to his illness, and dancing to honkey tonk music. Roger had a sense of humor, and even though he battled Alzheimer's, he could still make others smile. Whenever asked how he was doing, his response would be "I would be fine if it wasn't for this damn runny nose", and then promptly do a sniffle.He is survived by five children, Scott (Kim) Durfee, Eric Durfee, Trena (Gary) Jacobs, Bev (Ron) Sherban, and Carol Lea (Mike) Geib; twelve grandchildren, Justin, Brittney, Eric, Amber, Eddie, Brandon, Krystina, Hope, Alexis, Chase, Scott, and Samantha; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bev Schwaner and Mary Sutherland; and longtime girlfriend, Dorothy Flohr.Roger was preceded in death by his mother, biological father and adopted father; and five siblings, Eyde Clark, June "Bug" Tenney, Robert Durfee, Ronald Durfee, Faye Eaton and William Durfee.Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH.
