Verta Carol (Mohr) Wurthmann

Verta Carol (Mohr) Wurthmann, 74, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 following a brief illness.Verta was born December 29, 1943 in Brady Lake, Ohio, the daughter of Lewis and Jesse (Jenkins) Mohr.Verta never met a stranger and when she smiled she lit up the room. She was an avid antique collector and a florist. She loved working in her flower beds and crafting. She enjoyed canning, making jam and baking at Christmas.Verta is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dale Wurthmann; daughter, Tammy Wurthmann; son, Todd Wurthmann; daughter-in-law, Julie Wurthmann; grandchildren, Tyler Wurthmann and his wife, Savannah Wurthmann, Jordon Wurthmann and his fiancé, Payton Garand; brother, Maynard (Carolyn) Mohr; sisters, Donna Money and Beulah (Jack) Close; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Verta was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Hermann and Byrl Wurthmann; and brother-in-law, Tom Money.Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at the funeral home, with Brother Dan Gates officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
