April M. (Gerwig) Savage

April M. (Gerwig) Savage, 50, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 6, 2022.

April was born on April 25, 1972, in Ashland, to Robert J. and Barbara (Chance) Gerwig. She loved her family and enjoyed many family activities. April loved nature, and enjoyed water, especially the ocean, including swimming and boating. She also loved camping, campfires, riding motorcycles, and sunsets.  She was the peacemaker at the campground and with her family.

She is survived by her children, Nathan (Aliece) Rush, Maylynn Rush, Allison Rush, and Catelynn Rush, all of Mansfield; sisters, Michele Ricer and Vicki Ogle both of Ashland, and Nicky Tompkins of CA; step-children, Nicole (Cody) Radcliff of Ashland, Timothy (Crystal) Rush of Mansfield, Jennifer Savage of Cambridge, Roger Rush, III and Makaila Rush, both of Florida; ten grandchildren, Aaliyah Rush, Laura, Kayden, Timothy, Kiera, Caeson, Noah, Brantley, Owen, and Lincoln, with grandson, Kingstin, on the way; many nieces and nephews who she treated as her own; and lifelong best friends, Brenda Phillips, Melissa “Mama” Reedy, and Tammy Wallace.

April was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger “Bub” Rush Jr; infant son, Christian Rush; and brother-in-law, Scott Ogle.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in Lantz Cemetery.
