Arlene Porter, age 89 of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 19, 1937, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late Herman and Dorothy (Hall) Oakley, and on July 25, 1959, she married the love of her life, Glennis Porter.
Arlene was a member of Victory Chapel, and she was a proud homemaker. She was the most loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend a person could ask for, and she will be so dearly missed.
She is survived by her children Rex (Jeanetta) Porter, Jill Porter, Joey (Sonya Ivon) Porter, and Lisa (John) Stevens; her brother-in-law Raymond “Jewel” Porter; her sisters-in-law Bev Oakley, Shirley Oakley, Eleanor Wilcox, and Pat Lincoln; her grandchildren Brian, David, Gregory, Daniel, Courtney, Jocelyn, and Colton; and her great-grandchildren Samantha, Sydney, Seth, Sophia, Norah, Leah, Maxwell, Andrew, Braxton, Luke, and Parker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glennis Porter, her parents Herman and Dorothy Oakley, five brothers, and three sisters.
Family and friends may gather to honor Arlene’s memory on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Jay Stevens officiating.
The family would like to offer a special thank-you to Southern Care Hospice for the excellent care they took of Arlene, especially nurses Britney and Cindy and health aide Marty.
