Arthur Soliday, age 84 of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1940, on the family farm in Bellville to Arista M. and Leona (Fry) Soliday. He was the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Bellville High School. He is a veteran of the United States Navy. He married his wife Christine (Anschutz) on August 25, 1965, and they were married for 57 years until her death in 2022.
Arthur loved being a truck driver for Walmart for over 15 years before his retirement, and he also drove truck for Tappan’s. He enjoyed going to casinos, playing bingo, and going on road trips with his family.
He is survived by his children Michael Soliday of Galloway, Ohio, and Kathy Soliday of Mansfield. He is also survived by his grand-animals Reagan, Reba, R2, Pepper, Punkin, and Bootsy; his sister Lois Reiner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Christine Soliday; his parents; his brothers Earl Soliday and Chester Soliday; and his sisters Martha Scott, Ruth Strater, Evelyn Long, Ethel Hazen, Mabel Hoover, and Barbara Cunning.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lantz Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Dog Shelter, 810 N. Home Rd., Mansfield, OH 44903.
