Barry L. Blackford, 55, of Mt. Gilead, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Monday, July 31, 2017.Barry was born in Bucyrus, on December 12, 1961, the son of John M. and Nancy J. (Baum) Blackford. He was a 1980 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. He received a degree in Business Administration from Tiffin University. He was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Galion. He loved his wife and his daughters, and enjoyed spending time with them. Barry enjoyed cooking, and was active in serving the First Breakfast every Saturday and the First Supper meals every second Tuesday of the month at his church. He enjoyed serving the Lord, and loved to sing and watch James Bond movies and the Three Stooges. He liked to look at Classic cars, and enjoyed sports, especially Ohio State Football, Cleveland Browns, and the Dallas Cowboys. He married Michelle Thompson Blackford on August 16, 2008, and she survives.Along with his wife, Michelle, he is survived by his father and step-mother, John and Jean Blackford of The Villages, FL; two daughters, Nella Blackford and Natalee Blackford both of Ashland; and a brother, Darrin (Colleen) Blackford of Solon.Barry was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Blackford.Calling hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at First Lutheran Church, 127 S. Columbus St, Galion. A memorial service celebrating Barry's life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
