Betty I. Hardin

Betty I. Hardin, age 91 of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1933, in Mansfield to the late Claude E. and Hazel (McCray) Nixon.

Betty dedicated her life to caring for her family, and she also spent much of her time volunteering with her church, Diamond Hill Cathedral. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, rearranging her furniture whenever the mood struck her, and painting houses. She also enjoyed puzzle books.

She is survived by her children Curtis (Brenda) Nixon, Ernie (Kathy) Tangalakis, Betty Jean Perez, Ronald Hardin, Diane Coulter, Debbie (Theodric) Pointer, and Michael Hardin; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Hardin; her parents Claude and Hazel Nixon; and her children Rick Hardin, Dorothy Banks, and Robert Hardin.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Diamond Hill Cathedral, 500 Tingley Ave., Mansfield. Services will follow at 3:00 pm.
