Billy Forest Stegall, 87, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020.
Billy was born on February, 6, 1933, in Olive Hill, KY, to Nellie (Bowling) Stegall and Samuel F. Stegall. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received the National Defense Services Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #3494. He retired from General Motors. Billy loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and blue grass and country music.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie (Wellman) Stegall; children, Gary (Sherri) Stegall of Greensboro, NC, Billy (Gail) Stegall of Colonial Beach, VA, Anna (Jerry) Parsons-Berkley of Springfield, Illinois, James Parsons of Mansfield, and Kevin (Tracy) Parsons of Delaware, OH; special niece, Teresa Marcum of Mansfield; grandchildren, Justin (Kelly) Stegall, Keith (Amy) Stegall, Patrick (Brandy) Henderson, Adam Berkley, Sarah Berkley, Tanya (David) Parsons, Tina (Torence) Parsons-Anderson, Tiffani (Kenny) Parsons-Epling, Kelsi (Logan) Parsons, Kayci Parsons, Eva Haney and Damian Hammond; great-grandchildren, Caleb Berkley, Casey Berkley, Jordan Stegall, Avery Ann Stegall, Elliot Stegall, Jaxson Stegall, Adriana Parsons, Malachi Parsons-Anderson, Serenity Anderson, Tayshaun Anderson, Asjanaya Anderson, Malik Hussein Anderson, Ariel (Jonathan) Roberts, Austin Henderson, Riley Henderson, Brooklynn Henderson, Christian Haney, Nathan Haney, and Donavan Haney; and sister, Veronice Reynolds of South Carolina.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Annette Stegall Striblin; daughter-in-law, Debbie Cloes Parsons; and siblings, Shirley and Samuel.
The family will be having private services. Burial will take place at Mansfield Memorial Park.
