Carl Harper

Carl Harper, age 83 of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his wife and friend of 45 years Patricia Stotts Harper and his canine companion Annie. Carl was born on March 22, 1942, to Mark Harper, Sr., and Myrtle (Walker) Harper.

Carl worked at the Ohio Brass Co. for 26 years as a certified welder and machinist. He also spent 13 years as a firefighter and EMT for the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Little Washington Congregational Church, where he was active with the Lucas Area Food Pantry and spent several years as the cook for the youth camp.

Carl is survived by his wife Pat; his daughters Arlene (Jeff) Gardner of Arizona and Diane Mullins and Melissa (Richard) Fisher of Mansfield; his grandchildren Derek and Alicia Gardner, Kevin (April) Rannigan, Amber Rannigan, Kyle (Miki) Fisher, Matthew Fisher, and Brittany (Kaylee) Peyton; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; his nephews Mark Harper, Terry Harper, and Dan and Larry Dailey; his niece Bobbie Dailey; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Cecil (Janet) Harper, Mark (Mary) Harper, and James (Margie) Dailey; and his sisters Doneen (Bruce) Poulton, Bethlene (Ed) Burchett, and Ileane Gardner; his grandson Timothy Gardner; and his nephew Willy Harper.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Following the committal service at the cemetery, a luncheon will be held at 12:30 pm at Little Washington Congregational Church, 2323 Washington South Rd., Mansfield.
