Carla S. Griffith

Carla S. Griffith, age 59 of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2026, at her home. She was born on August 4, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Arvil Dean and Marda (Owens) Rutter.

Carla was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed visiting many other local churches. She loved telling people about the Lord and the change that He made in her life. She enjoyed fixing up her house, working in the yard, painting, and working on projects. Carla loved going to church and to church functions. She liked to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and her dog, Reily.

Her favorite quote was “Plain talk is easy understood.” Her grandson Dominic would tell her that she was crazy and then she would say, “Don’t forget it and tell all your friends.”

She is survived by her son Raymond Griffith (Alyssa Sloey) of Mansfield; her brothers Terry Griffith of Norwalk, Phillip Griffith of Vancouver, WA, and Arthur Rutter of Mansfield; her sisters Debra Rutter and Sheila (Dean) Dickson all of Mansfield; her grandchildren Dominic, Celia, and Siena Griffith all of Mansfield; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend JoJo Fischer.

Carla was preceded in death by her mother Marda (Owens) Rutter; father Arvil Dean; stepfather Arthur Rutter; and brother Michael Griffith.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1169 Mill Road, Mansfield, OH, 44902. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm at the church with Pastor Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
