Connie L. (Howell) Kanz, 75, formerly of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020.
Connie was born on June 26, 1944, to Clifford C. and Martha A (Jones) Howell. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s of the Snows Catholic Church, and volunteered with luncheons and the festival. She was the matriarch of the family, and took in anyone who needed it. She and her husband, Ron, opened their hearts and their home to the entire family and hosted countless family gatherings over the years; from large celebrations to a sunny summer day by their pool. Ron and Connie were godparents to numerous nieces and nephews throughout their lives, and remained constant examples of kindness and generosity. Connie was always available to provide sage advice and a kind word for each person who crossed her path.
Connie was a devoted partner and caretaker for her husband Ron. Because of her patience and overwhelming ability as a care provider he outlived all the doctors’ expectations. When Ron passed in 2005, she never ceased in her caregiving and provided support to her family and friends.
Connie’s legacy is instilled in all who were blessed with her presence-she was a perfect example of kindness to others and unconditional love.
She is survived by siblings, Wilma Holland, Donald (Shirley) Howell, sisters-in-law, Betty Howell, Caroline Thompson and Shirley Kanz; brother-in-law, David (Jan) Kanz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Kanz; and three siblings, Wanda Holland, Sylvia Steinhoff, and Vernon Howell.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Catholic Section of Mansfield Cemetery, with Father Matt Frisbee officiating.
