Constance Moton Obituary

Constance Elaine (Kuhn) Moton, 74, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021. She was surrounded by her loved ones and the nursing staff at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, who came to love her.

Constance was born on March 11, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Charles E. and Rosemary (Kagey) Kuhn. She was her happiest when she was surrounded by her loved ones. Constance was a wonderful God-fearing, loving mother and grandmother. Even though miles may have separated her from her loved ones, she fervently prayed for her household and tribe, and kept a special place in her heart for her four grandchildren.

Constance graduated from Crestview High School with honors, in 1965. She loved participating in school plays, was the head Majorette, and played the tenor saxophone.  She then pursued a nursing degree and graduated from St. Joseph Hospital in 1966 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed at Mansfield General Hospital among other facilities. She impacted many with her kindness, care, and concern for her patients; bringing many lives to the Lord and advancing the Kingdom of Glory.

She loved growing up with her siblings on the farm and often spoke of bailing hay, feeding the animals, and going after the cows with walking sticks down to the woods. She often spoke of her father plowing the fields in the evening on the tractor after a long day’s work. She loved visiting her grandmother, Nanny, and was most excited when the “Nicoles Man” came and delivered cinnamon-raisin rolls.  One of her fondest memories was playing house with her siblings in the trailer on the farm.  She loved animals and her favorite was her dog, Lady, who always cozied up to her at bedtime. She was a dedicated fan of her beloved Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Constance was a Spirit Filled woman that loved the Lord, such as her mother, Rosemary. They spent many days and hours reading the Word, praying in agreement, and journaling, which has been passed down generations.  She had a servant’s heart and was a powerful prayer warrior and intercessor. Every day she listened to the Word of God and constantly remained in prayer for not only her family, but those she came to meet and for events happening around the world. She wrote scriptures that she would confess daily. One of her favorites was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” She often sent text messages of prayers and scriptures to her family and friends and loved using emoji’s. She loved singing old hymns and enjoyed collecting angels and crosses.

Constance was a Patriot and loved America. She recently moved into a new apartment overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. As you entered her apartment you would find reflections of Jesus, farming, and the American Flag. She loved sitting on her balcony overlooking the ocean and often would sit out at night looking up at the stars praising our Heavenly Father.

She is survived by her children, Daniel W. Snyder of Mansfield, Michelle (Maceo) Whitfield, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Jerrold M Moton, of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Cassondra Lyons, J.W Wasylik, Daniel Snyder, Jr., and Joshua Snyder; and four great-grandchildren, Xavier Cantrell, Luke Lyons, Rayme’ Lyons, and Hillyer Wasylik.  Constance was the fourth of five children and is survived by two sisters, Carol Marie Cordrey of Watertown, South Dakota and Mary Inez Sherman, of Lexington, Ohio.

Constance is joined in Heaven with her parents; her sister, Linda Cheryl Gongwer; her brother, William Charles Kuhn; and one granddaughter, Rachel Grace Snyder.

Memorial services will be held at Calvary Chapel Mansfield, 1945 Pavonia West Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44903 on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Bryan Schatzinger.
