Constance Stover Obituary

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Constance June (Beer) Stover, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on December 2, 2020.

Connie was born on April 18, 1939, in Mansfield, to the late Marion S. and Maple L. (Hamrick) Beer.  In 1957, she graduated from Madison High School.  Although she retired after 20 years with Sprint, her true passion was taking care of her family.  You could not walk into her home without being welcomed with a cup of coffee and a meal.  A true testament to her nurturing, loving and kind-hearted spirit.  Connie loved to cook, excelled at it, and kept an immaculate home. In 1981, she married the love of her life, Sam Stover, and they shared over 40 years together. You didn’t see one without the other. She was the peanut butter to his jelly. Connie and Sam were avid gardeners and canned about anything that grows.  She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.

She is survived by her husband, Sam; children, Mark Cline (special friend, Lisa), Amy (Buddy) Essick, and Steve (Amy) Stover; grandchildren, Kenneth (Tasha) Essick, Andrew (Ashley) Essick, Kaytlyn Essick, Kyle (Allison) Cline, Cody (Ashley) Cline, Shelby (Russell) Robinson, Kendra (Nolan) Cline, Emily Stover and Paige Stover; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Beer, William Charles “Bill” Beer, Myrl Gephart, and John (Diana) Beer; and lifelong friends, Roberta (Tom) Fletcher and Debbie Aberts.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Gephart.

At Connie’s request, there will not be a service at this time. A celebration of  her life is planned for the spring of 2021. Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.

She will truly be missed by all.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, 335 Glessner Ave, Mansfield, OH 44903.
