Constance "Connie" C. (Young) Landis

Constance C. “Connie” (Young) Landis, 83, of Mansfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Connie was born on September 11, 1939, in Loudonville, Ohio, to George F. and Bernice L. (Strang) Young. She graduated from Loudonville High School and Ashland Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for Dr. Peter Roemer and as charge nurse in Peoples Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Mansfield.  She knitted prayer shawls, lap blankets, and black knit military watch caps for under soldier’s helmets. Connie loved her church family at Grace Evangelical Free Church, where she was their “Old Testament Scholar”, a voice of knowledge about all things Biblical.

She is survived by her brother, George (Sue) Young of Bluffton, South Carolina; her sister, Saundra Blevins of Mansfield; nieces and nephews, Bernice (Rob) Francis of Dayton, Ohio, Michelle (Jeff) Book of Milford Center, Ohio, George Elmer (Sandy) Young of Erlanger, Kentucky, Teresa Blevins of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Sherry Etzwiler of Mansfield; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Charles Landis; her baby sister, Rose Marie Young; and brother-in-law, Joe “Bo” Blevins.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 536 Kentucky Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44905.
