D. Jean Green, age 91 of Lucas, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 19, 1933, in Milan, Ohio, to the late Harland P. and Myrtle M. (Mavehill) White, and on September 16, 1962, she married the love of her life, John F. Green. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Jean was a member of Grace Bible Church, Richland County Fairgrounds Women’s Auxillary, and she was an avid Bingo player and “Survivor” fan.
She is survived by her children Ernie (Laurie) Green of Lucas, Kathy Green of Mansfield, Douglas Green of Lucas, Sharon (Tom) Long of Ashland, Daniel (Lisa) Green of Ashland, and Lori Howington of Sandford, Florida; her son from another mother, George Rose of Mansfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Green; her parents Harland and Myrtle White; her daughter Laura Smith; and her siblings James White, Helen Gorman, Edith Hoke, Bill White, Fred White, and Bobby White.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Lucas.
