Daniel "Dan" R. Burgess, Sr

Daniel R. “Dan” Burgess, Sr., 81, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, following a lengthy illness.

Dan was born on June 3, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, to Ralph E. and Mary (Mathias) Burgess.  He attended St. Johns United Church of Christ. Dan loved to paint, and enjoyed joking around with others. Anyone who ever met him, liked him. He was a most loving husband to Joan, and they married on November 7, 1998.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Burgess; children, Daniel R. Burgess, Jr, Richard Burgess, Marilyn Sampson, and Lisa (Billy) Duffey; six grandchildren, Mitchell Sampson Jr., Ryan Sampson, Christine Burgess, Stephen Stone, David Duffey, and Nicole Capra; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Susan Burgess in 2006.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 p.m., Sunday June 6, 2021 at St Johns United Church of Christ, 68 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio.
