David E. Byerly, 81, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
David was born on March 27, 1940, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Charley and Marzeta Byerly. David was proud to have served his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was the Past President of VFW Post 3494, a member of the American Legion, Sons of Herman, Fraternal Order of Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge. David volunteered much of his time to serving others within these organizations and in the Mansfield community. David was a stock car driver of car #12 at Mansfield Speedway. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his daughters, Keisha (Dustin) Byerly, Aleisha Cole, Vanessa Byerly and Peggy (Todd) Wynn all of Mansfield; step-sons, James (Debbie) Steward and Cliff Pryor; step-daughter, Deb (Gary) Tuttle; brothers, Gene and Larry Byerly; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ann Byerly; father, Charley Rile Byerly; mother, Marzeta Violet Warner Byerly; daughter, Sharon Byerly; sister, Pat Shank; and stepson, Charlie Steward.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service being conducted at 5:00 P.M. all at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield, Ohio.
