Dean B. Ulery, 86, of Mansfield, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
Born on October 28, 1935 in Galion, Ohio, Dean spent his entire life in North Central Ohio. Dean graduated from Lucas High School and attended Ashland College as well as serving in the Ohio Air National Guard. He worked his entire career from college until the age of 80 in sales and management in the trucking industry. Over the course of his career, Dean developed friendships with coworkers and customers at All State, PIE, Mansfield Plumbing Products, and Cowen Trucking. Dean particularly enjoyed his time working at his last stint with Tim Cowen and the crew at Cowen Trucking.
Dean played tennis and golf with his family and friends and was a member at Shelby Country Club. He always attended his son’s sporting events. Dean enjoyed reading a good book and keeping up on current events.
Dean is survived by his sons, Michael and Jeffrey (Vickie); three grandchildren, Nathan, Nick and Noah; and his crazy dog, Rambo.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Jo Ann; parents, Ray and Frona Manross; and his sister, Verlita Rourke.
A very special thank you to the wonderful neighbors over the past 50 years who were always there to help Dean and Jo Ann: The Wallaces - Gene, Jimmy, Kay, Eric, Michelle, Rylan and Ethan; The Bakers - Scott and Shari; The Zimmers; and Ed and Carol Hardin. Your love, support, prayers, food and friendship has been a comfort over the years. Dean would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The family will observe private services due to rising COVID cases at this time. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Lucas, OH.
