Delno P McFarland

Delno P."Pete" McFarland, 88, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Pete was born on January 23, 1930, in Mansfield, to Lester and Katherine (Garst) McFarland. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed for over 19 years at Westinghouse, and a member of Bellville American Legion Post 535. He married Carol R. (Ritter) McFarland on November 18, 1950, and she survives.Along with his wife, he is survived by four children, Paul M. (Joanne) McFarland, Melody R. (James) Young, Mala M. (Terry) McBride, and Preston L. McFarland; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.Pete was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn Heidel and Linda Brandt.Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Little Washington Congregational Church, 2323 Washington South Rd, Mansfield, OH 44903. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Little Washington Cemetery, with Bellville American Legion Post 535 performing Military Honors.
