Dennis Jackson Obituary

Dennis Arlon Jackson, 85, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully, received the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was led home to heaven on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

Dennis “Denny” was born on September 27, 1935 in West Virginia. He served honorably in the USMC during the Korean War Era. Denny was a stamp, coin, clock, watch, and CB radio collector. Those who knew him described him as a kind, compassionate, friendly, and a social man that loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a fun-loving nature. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends, playing with his grandchildren, and visiting West Virginia.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty J. Jackson.

He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Holdt-Glasier of Golden, Colorado; grandsons, Kristopher Brady, Jeremy Holdt, and Justin Holdt; great grandchildren, Jade Brady and Mary Brady; special nephew, Larry Watkins of Galion; great-nephews and nieces whom he considered grandchildren, Heath Watkins (Kelli) of Galion, Jodi Watkins-Bean (Dan) of Galion, Johnathan Harris of Galion, Sarah Harris of Galion, Josh Watkins of Bowling Green, Christian Watkins of Galion, and Cadelyn Watkins of Mansfield; and special friends, Bob and Sue Priestas of Nova.

Dennis was also the long-term caregiver and companion to his dearest friend, Josephine Lucille Beer, who passed away on October 30, 2020.

The family wishes to thank Katherine Shaw of Mansfield and her daughter, Lisa Kegley (Dennis) of Lakeland, Florida for their prayers, love, friendship, and support given to Dennis and the family.

An immediate family graveside service with military honors will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven, Ohio, at a date and time yet to be determined.
