Dotty Jolene Carter, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1961, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Wanda Harper.
Dotty spent much of her life in Mansfield and Galion, Ohio. She was a pillar of strength, love, and security for her children and grandchildren, and she will be deeply missed by those who love her. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters, watching game shows and WWE wrestling, and decorating with Victorian-style home décor. She was a devoted, loving, and compassionate mother and grandmother who enjoyed the simple things in life, creating many cherished memories with those who loved her.
She is survived by her daughters Tammy (Seth) Williams and Tabitha Smith; a special grandson that she raised as her own, Trevor O’Leary; grandchildren Nakiah, Makilah, Alijai, NaDaishia, Jabraizia, Shannen, Bryson, and Jason; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Kim Robinson, Teresa Castle, and Terri (Earl Miller) Harper; brother Jerry (Janet Cole) Harper; special nephew Robert Tyler, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her beautiful daughters Tasha Carter and Randi Murnahan; her sisters Diane Carter and Debbie Moore; her brothers Kevin Carter, Donald Castle, Ralph Castle Jr., Brian Castle, and Gary Harper; her son-in-law Antonio Smith; and her stepfather Williard Harper.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
