Earnest E. “Gene” Mosier, 84, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Friday, January 8, 2021.
Earnest was born on February 1, 1936, in Grahn, KY, to William H. and Litha S. (Mosier) Mosier. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. He married his sweetheart, Betty E. (McGlone) Mosier, on May 19, 1959 and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2019. He retired from GM, after 30 years of employment. Earnest was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church. He loved his family and church family and enjoyed visiting with others. He also loved to hunt.
He is survived by three sons, Earnest E. (Michelle) Mosier II and Douglas W. (Deb) Mosier, both of Mansfield, and Michael L. Mosier of Ashland; grandchildren, Michael Mosier, Timothy Mosier, Ilia Mosier, Kathy Crawford, Earnest Mosier III, Breeanna Neal, Bryan Mosier, Bradley Mosier, Jessica Hendershott, Nikki Hendershott, and Jenna Hendershott; great-grandchildren, Austin Mosier, Piper Mosier, Samuel Crawford, Harley Crawford, Nicholas Crawford, Able Crawford, Asher Crawford, Ella Mosier, Earnest Mosier IV, Kristian Stoots, Owen Hendershott, Ryker Zickefoose, Bella Besenti, Oliver McBride, and Vincent McBride; siblings, Lowell Mosier, Lena Jewell Ison, and Hazel Rose Kitts, all of Ashland; and brothers-in-law, Joe (Doris) McGlone of Mansfield and Bob (Connie) McGlone of Alabama.
Along with his wife, Earnest was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Melinda Susan Mosier; siblings, William David “Bus” Mosier, Ercel Mosier, Grover Mosier, Barb Carroll, and an infant sister.
Calling hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the funeral home, with Pastor C. Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Church Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
