Elaine L. (Gabor) Hurlburt

Elaine L. (Gabor) Hurlburt, 84, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

Elaine was born on August 18, 1937, in Mansfield, to George and Julia A. (Morgenstirn) Gabor. She graduated from Springfield High School as class valedictorian and went on to be a legal secretary for Weldon, Huston, & Keyser Law Firm. Elaine was the church secretary for a number of years at Woodville Grace Brethren Church. After working, she semi-retired and did childcare in her home. She married Robert Hurlburt on August 18, 1956. Elaine was a member of First Alliance Church (MAC). She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and roses. Many babies in Mansfield were recipients of one of her over 500 blue, red, and white crocheted soccer balls.

Along with her husband, Robert, she is survived by her children, Julie (Bruce) Buzzard of Mansfield and Bob (Shannon) Hurlburt of California; grandson, Scott (Sarah) Hurlburt; siblings, Dale Gabor, George (Wanda) Gabor, and Kathleen McBride; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Adeline (Frank) Reinhold and Kenneth (Pat) Gabor; and sister-in-law, Donna Gabor.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery.
